INDORE: Alleging flawed process in the appointment of vice chancellor at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), former RGPV executive council member Ajay Chordia has lodged a complaint with Lokayukta police against Chancellor Ram Naresh Yadav and four others.
“In a reply to RTI application, I received a note-sheet related to appointment of vice chancellor at DAVV from Raj Bhawan.
It was surprising to see two proformas attached to the note-sheet copy. Though both the note sheet carried names of same persons recommended for the posts, Chancellor’s signature was missing where VC Narendra Dhakad’s name was ticked,” Chordia said.
He added saying that in first proforma, there was overwriting, spelling mistake, cursive handwriting, mix-up bold and small letters. In the second proforma, all names were in capital letters. “May be the vice chancellor search panel members prepared second proforma after noticing overwriting in the first one. They might had given the second proforma in a sealed envelope to the Chancellor’s office which, as per note-sheet, was opened on May 7. In any situation, the panel members would have given both proformas to the Chancellor’s office in the sealed envelope,” Chordia said alleging that handwriting on the proformas does not appear to be of any of the VC search panel members.
He said that if handwriting of search panel members would be matched with that on the proformas, the truth would come out. “I strongly believe that the panel members gave blank proformas to the Chancellor so that he could fill the names of his choice and appoint one of the persons as VC of DAVV,” Chordia alleged.
